In two consecutive Sunday's in Sydney I had possibly two of the biggest 'hits' of my career, both of which had a huge impact at the time.
Having photographed Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting on his night out, Ponting was forced to admit he had a problem with drink and was dropped from the Australian cricket team. He went on to have a glorious career and cemented himself in history as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
The following Sunday The Sun Herald published the pictures and story about Andrew Johnson and horrific scenes I photographed in Caroline Lane, Redfern. The fall out had serious implications on the Government's election campaign. Having closed down the needle exchange programme, they were forced to address the issue of drugs and were eventually forced to change policy and setting up safe injecting rooms.
